Yesterday it was announced that former Barrie Colts captain Ryan O'Connor has signed a two-year extension with the Iserlohn Roosters of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Below is a link to their announcement.
RYAN O'CONNOR RENEWS FOR TWO YEARS
O'Connor joined the Roosters for the 2019-20 season after five years in the Liiga. In his first year in Germany, O'Connor scored eight goals and 19 assists in 49 games. This year in his third season with Iserlohn, two goals and 24 assists through 27 games.
His 26 points are second-most on the team and the most among defensemen. The only player with more points is Kris Foucault, who won a WHL Championship in 2009-10 with the Calgary Hitmen. O'Connor was named an alternate captain last season and is still in a leadership role with the Roosters.

O'Connor was drafted sixth overall by the Barrie Colts in 2008. He played a little more than a season before being traded to Saginaw. In a deal that included Anthony Camara, Barrie would reacquire him in 2011-12. Ryan would be named Colts captain the following season.
In five OHL seasons, O'Connor scored 203 points in 311 regular-season games! Ryan was a great leader in Barrie and remembered by fans! Congratulations on your extension, and GO ROOSTERS!
