Barrie Colts forward Ryan Suzuki was drafted 28th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes at the 2019 NHL Draft. Suzuki becomes the 2nd Barrie Colts player to be drafted by the Hurricanes. The other was Andrei Svechnikov at last years draft.
Suzuki entered the Draft ranked 18th overall among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting. Bob McKenzie of TSN had him 20th.
