Yesterday it was announced by Tampa Bay Lightning GM Steve Yzerman that the team had recalled former Barrie Colts defenceman Jake Dotchin from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
The Cambridge, Ontario native has appeared in 33 games this season with the Crunch where he has put up 3 goals and 9 assists. His 77 penalty minutes are the most on the team.

He has shown some growth since last season where he only posted a goal and 10 assists. In just under half the game appearances compared to last years full season, this year he already has posted more points. Or, more point.. One more point. That is a huge increase in production and has obviously earned him the attention of Tampa management. He has not played a game yet with the Bolts but maybe will get a look this time up.

Over a season and a half with Barrie, Jake played in 91 regular season games. In that time, he scored 13 goals and got 31 assists for a total of 44 points. Before coming to Barrie, he played for more than a season with the Owen Sound Attack. Over his OHL career he played in 193 regular season games, putting up 18 goals, 59 assist, 77 points and 279 penalty minutes.

We would like to wish Jake the best of luck and hope he sees some time with the Lightning!
