The Ottawa 67's are at Barrie Molson Centre to face the Barrie Colts for the second of four meetings this season. They first met at TD Place in the Colts second game of the season, and saw the Colts take a 7-5 win. Matt Brassard (2G:1A), Anthony Stefano (1G:2A) and Justin Murray (3A) all earned 3 points in the game, while Kirill Nizhnikov got 2 big points (1G:1A). Matt Brassard scored the game winner midway through the 3rd period. Ottawa pushed and put in a couple more goals to make it a game but a late Stefano insurance goal would help clinch the victory. David Ovsjannikov got the start for the Colts and wasn't too busy saving 19 of 24 shots faced. Colts put up 34 shots, went 2 for 7 on the PP and perfect on the PK going 0 for 2.
Ottawa was riding a 3 game win streak which included a couple big overtime wins before Niagara put an end to it last night. The IceDogs pulled off the 5-3 victory at home to end the 67's hot streak. Ottawa had a pretty strong game putting up 45 shots, scoring on their lone power play and winning 45 of 65 face-offs, they just couldn't beat the streaking IceDogs. Leo Lazarev saved 40 of 44 shots faced while Chase Campbell scored an assist and put up a goal. Drake Rymsha had a good game despite being a -3. He put 8 shots on goal and won 16 of 22 faceoffs which is pretty incredible.
Barrie is coming off of a huge 8-2 win over the Sudbury Wolves Thursday night at the BMC. The win was much needed as it ended the 6 game losing streak, as well as the 3-0 lead Sudbury had on the season series. It also saw the return of forward Ben Hawerchuk who was out with an injury. Barrie was really strong and their 3 goals on 5 power plays was a huge factor in their performance. Colts forward Zachary Magwood had a career game scoring 2 goals and 3 assists. His 5 points doubled his production on the season. Nizhnikov, Hedberg, Cameron, Chiodo and Finoro all with goals. Hawerchuk got an assist and was 10 for 16 in the face-off circle in his return and Christian Propp saved 33 of 35 shots faced. An outstanding game for a team who obviously was clicking in most aspects of their game.
Gene Pereira tweeted out that Tyler Tucker will return tonight. There was also talk of captain Cordell James returning but have not seen any updates. If there is any updates we will share it.

Keys to Success: Play like they did Thursday. Colts were excellent and if they can keep the momentum they have a great chance of winning. They were getting pucks on net, great on special teams and improved on draws. These were all areas the team has struggled and if they can have a consistent game to Thursdays performance they for sure can come out of tonight on a 2 game win streak.
Players to Watch: Zachary Magwood could come into tonight with a lot of confidence following his 5 point night. I would look for him to have another strong performance. I would also look at Lucas Chiodo to have a good night. He has put up 14 points over the last 12 games and is almost a point a game player this year. Has looked really good this season.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 at Barrie Molson Centre.
