The Barrie Colts host the Ottawa 67's tonight! Game Preview. #OHL

Tonight the Colts finish up their third game in three nights when they host the Ottawa 67 (0-2-0-0)

The 67's are off to a slow start having lost both games they have played this season. In those games they have only scored 1 goal and allowed 6 to go in. Though they have managed to stay disciplined only taking 16 minutes worth of penalties in two games, (compared to the Colts 77 minutes over 4 games). They will want to continue that style tonight against a Barrie team that has been anything but disciplined.

Tho Colts are coming off a 4-2 win last night in Sarnia. Again, the Colts lacked discipline and were out shot. Mac Blackwood has really stepped up and kept the Colts in games early in the season. Having faced the most shots of the top 20 goalies in the OHL with 143 shots in 4 games played. That is an average of 36 (rounded up) shots a game. Granted, two of these games went to overtime but the Colts will need to tighten up defensively if the hope to have any success this season. Though, having started in the last two games straight there is a possibility he could get the night off.

Keys to success: Defense. At times, they have looked incredible. Laser, Andersson, Garcia and Webster have done a good job for the most part, but at times have looked messy. Turnovers last night almost cost them on multiple occasions. Consistency will be huge for them.

Discipline, discipline and DISCIPLINE! STAY OUT OF THE BOX! Considering the amount of shots the Colts have allowed, and the amount of time they have spent in the box they are lucky to have a winning record. 77 penalty minutes is the most in the OHL (Rangers have the second most with 70). They have gotten off lucky and will really need to be smarter.

Our First line has been incredible. Not only will they need to keep that up but the other teams will need to help out as well. We cant expect Blandisi to score all the goals.. (Or can we?)

Tonight before the game the Colts will be remembering Colt alumni, Jeremy Swanson to continue their celebration of 20 years in the league! For more on his Colt career go to this post from earlier today.

Puck drop is at 7:30 at BMC!
